Fudan International Summer School of Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology 2025
Fudan University, building on its past successes in hosting various summer programs, will launch an International Summer School of Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology in 2025 to provide an accessible and high-quality scientific platform for outstanding graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduates from all over the world, thereby promoting international academic exchange and communication. This program offers outstanding undergraduates and postgraduates the opportunity to experience the charm of synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology while also providing a sight of the stunning Fudan campus. Beginning their splendid academic journey here, students will take part in a wide choice of cutting-edge courses in synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology, and engage in exciting scientific activities.
Organic chemistry is one of the core fields of modern science. It not only explains the relationship between molecular structure and function but also drives revolutionary advancements in industries such as pharmaceuticals, materials, and energy. On the other hand, chemical biology is an interdisciplinary field bridging chemistry and biology, employing chemical tools to study living systems and reveal the molecular mechanisms of biological processes, thereby building a bridge between the two disciplines. This year, the summer school organized by the Department of Chemistry at Fudan University focuses on two themes, including:
1. Synthetic Organic Chemistry
2. Chemical Biology
The international summer school will be held at Fudan University from July 2nd 2025 to July 18th 2025. It is hosted by Fudan University, organized by the Department of Chemistry. More than ten experts and scholars in the field of synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology from well-known universities all over the world have been invited to give lectures in English. Combined with lectures and discussions, the basic knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology will be taught. The latest research progresses, technologies, and cutting-edge advancements in these two important research fields will also be introduced.

(1)Applicant Requirements:
Undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students worldwide who are interested and understand the basics of synthetic organic chemistry and chemical biology.
(2)Tuitions & Fees:
The summer school is free of tuition and provides free meals for school activities. Transport and accommodation are not covered.
(3)Scholarship:
The summer school program will select approximately 30 outstanding students and offer scholarships to share their international and domestic travel & accommodation expenses. If you have specific questions, please consult us.

2025年有机化学与化学生物学复旦国际暑期学校简介
有机化学是现代科学的核心领域之一,它不仅解释了分子结构与功能的关系,更推动了医药、材料、能源等行业的革命性发展。另一方面,化学生物学是化学与生物学的交叉学科,通过化学手段研究生命体系,揭示生物过程的分子机制,架构起化学与生物学的桥梁。今年,复旦大学化学系的暑期学校以“有机化学与化学生物学”为主题,包含“有机合成化学”和“化学生物学”两个重要课程模块。
国际暑期学校将在2025年7月2日-7月18日于复旦大学校内开办,由复旦大学化学系主办,邀请了沃尔夫奖获得者何川教授等十余位来自国内外知名大学并享有国际学术声誉的专家学者,全英文集中讲授有机合成化学与化学生物学相关领域的前沿和热点,结合课堂讲座与研讨交流,传授有机合成化学与化学生物学领域的基础知识并介绍最前沿的研究进展,为优秀的研究生、高年级本科生和博士后提供一流的学术成长平台。暑期学校以基础讲座、前沿研讨会等方式开展。
国际暑期学校课程介绍:
模块1:有机合成化学
有机合成化学作为自然科学的基础研究领域之一,其本质是研究化学键的活化、断裂和重组规律,从而发现和设计出更加高效的有机反应、合成概念、合成策略和路线,以应用于药物分子及有机功能分子的发现与制备。在这个模块中,授课老师将介绍有机合成化学相关的基础知识,并结合自身科研工作介绍目前有机合成化学领域的前沿研究成果,包括且不限于天然产物与药物分子全合成、不对称催化合成、以及自由基化学等。
模块2:化学生物学
化学生物学是化学与生物学的交叉学科,通过化学手段研究生命体系,揭示生物过程的分子机制。它结合合成化学、分析化学与分子生物学技术,设计小分子探针或工具,调控和解析蛋白质、核酸等生物大分子的功能,助力疾病机制研究和药物开发。在这个模块中,授课老师将介绍化学生物学相关的基础知识,并结合自身科研工作介绍目前化学生物学领域的前沿研究成果,包括且不限于核酸化学、生物正交反应、计算质谱学、抗体偶联药物、靶向蛋白修饰等。
国际暑期学校报名方式:
(1) 申请人条件
全球范围内,对有机合成化学与化学生物学有兴趣,且具备相关学科和领域基础知识的在读本科生、研究生及博士后。
(2) 费用说明
暑期学校免收学费,提供课程期间的中午餐食补贴。住宿费和交通费用自理。
(3) 奖学金
暑期学校项目将依据暑期学校期间表现,在结业时遴选约30位外校优秀学员,提供2000元奖学金,用于补助国际国内旅费和住宿费。
