Fudan International Summer School of Chemical Theory and Mechanism 2026

Fudan University, building on its past successes in hosting various summer programs, will launch an International Summer School of Chemistry themed Chemical Theory and Mechanism in 2026 to provide an accessible and high-quality scientific platform for outstanding graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduates from all over the world, thereby promoting international academic exchange and communication. This program offers outstanding undergraduates and postgraduates the opportunity to explore the frontiers of chemical theory and mechanism, while also experiencing the academic atmosphere and stunning campus of Fudan University. Students will participate in a series of cutting-edge courses focusing on cluster chemistry, chemical bonding theory, reaction dynamics and spectroscopic technology, and engage in high-level scientific discussions and academic activities to start their splendid academic journey.


International Summer School Introduction

Chemical theory and mechanism is the fundamental core of modern chemistry, which lays the theoretical foundation for explaining chemical bonding rules, molecular structural characteristics, chemical reaction processes and material properties. It supports the innovative development of physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, catalytic chemistry and other disciplines, and guides the design and optimization of new chemical systems and functional materials. Focusing on the core theme of Chemical Theory and Mechanism, the 2026 summer school organized by the Department of Chemistry at Fudan University sets three systematic teaching modules, covering frontier directions in theoretical chemistry, cluster science, reaction dynamics and spectral application research:

1. Cluster Structure and Theoretical Catalysis

2. Chemical Bond and Reaction Dynamics

3. Spectroscopic Technology: Applications and Theoretical Research

The international summer school will be held at Fudan University fromJuly 6th to July 22nd, 2026, hosted and organized by the Department of Chemistry, Fudan University. We have invited more than ten top experts and scholars in the field of chemical theory and mechanism from world-renowned universities and research institutions worldwide to deliver full-English lectures. Adopting a combined teaching mode of systematic lectures and academic discussions, the program will systematically teach core theoretical knowledge, and introduce the latest research progress, core technologies and cutting-edge achievements in cluster chemistry, chemical bonding theory, reaction dynamics and spectroscopic theoretical research.

We sincerely welcome outstanding young researchers from all over the world to join the 2026 Fudan International Summer School of Chemistry. (1) Applicant Requirements

Undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students worldwide who are interested in chemical theory and mechanism research and have basic knowledge of chemistry-related disciplines.

(2) Tuitions & Fees

The summer school is free of tuition. Relevant activity subsidies will be provided during the program period. Transport and accommodation expenses are not covered and need to be undertaken by participants themselves.

(3) Scholarship

The summer school program will select outstanding participants after the program and offer scholarships to subsidize their international and domestic travel & accommodation expenses. Applicants can consult the contact person for detailed scholarship policies.

2026年化学理论与机制复旦国际暑期学校简介

化学理论与机理是现代化学的核心基础领域,是阐释分子结构、化学键本质与化学反应微观过程的重要理论支撑,为物理化学、无机化学、催化化学等前沿方向的发展提供核心指导,同时推动功能材料、能源化学等领域的技术革新。为搭建高水平、国际化的学术交流平台,促进全球化学基础理论领域的学术互通与人才培养,复旦大学化学系依托历年成功举办国际暑期学校的经验,正式开设2026年化学理论与机理国际暑期学校。项目面向全球优秀本科生、研究生及博士后,汇聚国际顶尖师资,开设前沿理论课程与学术研讨活动,助力青年学者夯实理论基础、接轨国际前沿。本年度暑期学校聚焦化学理论与机理核心主题,围绕理论化学前沿研究设置三大核心教学模块,覆盖团簇结构与理论催化、化学键与反应动力学、光谱技术及理论应用三大热门研究方向,精准对接当前国际理论化学领域的研究热点与发展趋势。

本次国际暑期学校由复旦大学化学系主办,将于2026年7月6日至7月22日在复旦大学举办。项目邀请十余位来自全球知名高校的理论化学、物理化学、光谱研究领域的顶尖专家学者全英文授课,采用课堂讲授+学术研讨相结合的教学模式,系统讲解化学理论与机理领域核心基础知识,同步介绍团簇化学、化学键理论、反应动力学、光谱分析等方向的最新研究成果、前沿技术与学科进展。我们诚挚邀请全球优秀青年科研人员参与本次暑期学校,与国际知名专家深耕化学基础理论前沿,拓宽国际学术视野,积累优质学术资源,开启全新的学术探索之旅。


国际暑期学校课程介绍:

模块一:团簇结构与理论催化

团簇科学是物理化学与材料化学的前沿交叉领域,是精准构建功能分子、设计高效催化体系的重要基础。本模块将系统讲解团簇化学的基础理论、团簇结构调控规律与电子结构特征,结合前沿科研成果介绍金属团簇、硼团簇、芳香团簇等典型团簇体系的构建与表征方法,重点讲解团簇催化的反应机理、理论模拟策略与应用场景,涵盖团簇材料设计、催化反应路径分析、理论催化模拟技术等前沿研究内容。

模块二:化学键与反应动力学

化学键理论是现代化学的核心理论根基,反应动力学是阐释化学反应微观机制的关键研究方向。本模块聚焦主族化合物、过渡金属配合物的成键本质,讲解经典化学键理论与非经典成键模式、给体-受体键合等前沿理论,同时系统介绍小分子活化反应机理、金属-金属成键规律、无机体系电子结构特征,结合理论计算方法解析化学反应动力学过程与反应活性调控机制。

模块三:光谱技术:应用与理论研究

光谱技术是化学微观表征与机理研究的核心实验手段,是连接化学理论与实验研究的重要桥梁。本模块将讲解各类高端光谱检测技术的基本原理、设备应用与实验方法,重点介绍速度映射成像技术、弱束缚团簇光谱检测、大气痕量气体光谱传感、气溶胶光反应表征等前沿技术,结合理论模拟方法讲解光谱数据解析、分子间相互作用表征、激光外腔器件设计等研究内容,兼顾技术应用与理论机理研究。



国际暑期学校报名方式:

(1) 申请人条件

全球范围内,对化学理论与机制有兴趣,且具备相关学科和领域基础知识的在读本科生、研究生及博士后。

(2) 费用说明

暑期学校免收学费,提供课程期间的中午餐食补贴。住宿费和交通费用自理。

(3) 奖学金

暑期学校项目将依据暑期学校期间表现,在结业时遴选约30位外校优秀学员,提供2000元奖学金,用于补助国际国内旅费和住宿费。
