Fudan International Summer School of Energy Materials Chemistry 2024


Fudan University, building on its past successes in hosting various summer programs, will launch an International Summer School of Energy Materials Chemistry in 2024 to provide an accessible and high-quality scientific platform for outstanding graduate students and postdocs from all over the world, thereby promoting international academic exchange and communication. This program offers outstanding undergraduates and postgraduates the opportunity to experience the charm of energy materials chemistry while also providing a sight of the stunning Fudan campus. Beginning their splendid academic journey here, students will take part in a wide choice of cutting-edge courses in energy materials chemistry and engage in exciting scientific activities.

International Summer School Introduction

Energy is an important material basis for the survival and development of human society, and the energy crisis and the climate and environment crisis caused by energy problems are major problems facing mankind today. To optimize the use of traditional fossil energy and develop and transform new energy, energy material chemistry is playing an increasingly important role. This year, the Summer School of Chemistry of Fudan University takes Energy Materials Chemistry as its theme, including three important modules:

        1. Synthetic Chemistry towards Energy Applications,

        2. Catalysis for Energy Conversion

        3. Electrochemical Energy

The international summer school will be held at Fudan University from June 30th 2024 to July 20th 2024. It is hosted by Fudan University, organized by the Department of Chemistry. More than ten experts and scholars in the field of energy materials chemistry from well-known universities at home and abroad were invited to give lectures in English. on in the field of energy materials chemistry. Combined with lectures and discussions, the basic knowledge of energy materials chemistry was taught and the latest research progress was introduced.

Registration link of International Summer School

(1)Applicant Requirements:

Undergraduate, graduate and post-doctoral students worldwide who are interested in energy materials chemistry and understand the basics of energy materials chemistry.

(2)Tuitions & Fees:

The summer school is free of tuition and provides free meals for school activities. Transport and accommodation are not covered.

(3)Scholarship:

The summer school program will select approximately 30 outstanding students and offer scholarships to share their international and domestic travel & accommodation expenses. If you have specific questions, please consult us.  

(4)Application Process:

External applicants: Please log in to http://register.fudan.edu.cn/ to fill out the online registration form and upload required materials.

Undergraduate and graduate students of Fudan University choose the corresponding summer courses through the on-campus course selection system, and do not need to register in the above registration system.

For postdocs of Fudan University, please refer to external applicants for the application process for postdocs at Fudan University.

2024年复旦能源材料化学国际暑期学校简介


能源是人类社会赖以生存和发展的重要物质基础,而能源危机以及由能源问题引发的气候、环境危机是当今人类面临的重大难题。如何优化利用传统化石能源,开发与转化新型能源,能源材料化学领域正发挥着日益重要的作用。今年,复旦大学化学系的暑期学校以“能源材料化学”为主题,包含“能源应用中的合成化学”“能源转化中的催化化学”和“电化学能源化学”三个重要课程模块。

国际暑期学校将在2024年6月30日-7月20日复旦大学校内开办,由复旦大学主办,复旦大学化学系承办,邀请了十余位来自国内外知名大学并享有国际学术声誉的能源材料化学领域的专家学者,全英文集中讲授能源材料化学相关领域的前沿和热点,结合课堂讲座与研讨交流,传授能源材料化学基础知识并介绍最前沿的研究进展,为优秀的研究生、高年级本科生和博士后提供一流的学术成长平台。

暑期学校以基础讲座、前沿研讨会等方式开展。

课程模块信息如下:

模块1:能源应用中的合成化学

能源材料的合成制备是能源应用的起点,是能源材料化学的重点研究方向之一。如何针对能源应用场景,大规模、绿色、精准制备具有特定结构和功能性质的能源材料非常关键。在这个模块中,授课老师将介绍材料合成化学相关的基础知识,并结合自身科研工作,以具体能源应用场景为例,介绍具有特殊结构与功能的新型材料的合成方法,包括且不限于纳米晶材料、二维层状材料、多孔材料以及复合界面材料等的合成与表征。

模块2:能源转化中的催化化学

能源合成材料在能源转化中的催化行为,是能源材料化学的重点研究方向之一。如何聚焦能源转化过程,识别关键催化反应,探测、表征微观反应机理,最终实现精准设计并调控关键催化过程尤为重要。在这个模块中,授课老师将介绍光、电催化相关的基础知识,并结合自身科研工作,介绍不同催化反应(包括且不限于电解水反应、固氮反应、硝酸根还原反应、二氧化碳还原反应以及有机小分子氧化还原反应)的催化性能优化、微观机理研究与前沿应用进展。

模块3:电化学能源化学

电化学能源化学,特别是电池相关研究,在能源储存和利用方面发挥着关键作用。如何结合实际应用场景,精准设计并开发新型电池体系,提升优化电池性能(寿命、容量、充放电速率、能量转换效率等),最终实现高能量转换效率、大容量、绿色新型电池体系的实际应用。在这个模块中,授课老师将介绍电池相关的基础知识,并结合自身科研工作,介绍电池体系的设计与应用,包括且不限于二次电池、燃料电池、染料敏化太阳能电池等方向。

国际暑期学校报名方式:

(1) 申请人条件

全球范围内,对能源材料化学有兴趣,了解能源材料化学基础知识的在读本科生、研究生及博士后。

(2) 费用说明

暑期学校免收学费,提供课程期间的中午餐食补贴。住宿费和交通费用自理。

(3) 奖学金

暑期学校项目将依据暑期学校期间表现,在结业时遴选约30位外校优秀学员,提供2000元奖学金,用于分担国际国内旅费和住宿费。

复旦大学本校的本科生和研究生通过校内选课系统选择暑期学期对应课程,无需在上述报名系统注册报名。复旦大学本校博士后的申请流程请参照校外申请人。
